on thin ice ...
a thin sheet of ice blankets my world,
this is looking down my driveway
photos should be click-able to enlarge
sleet and ice look like diamonds on the deck
glare ice, not water, trapped in drops
hubby's burning pit appears as a skating rink
with logs near by, marshmallows anyone?
We have escaped the heavy deep snow our surrounding neighbors have been buried in. Hubby did have to plow down about 5 inches that fell on top of the ice shown above. Deep freeze temperatures linger in the forecast, and no sun. So no slip, sliding, sledding or skating in the near future for me. Indoors I stay.

Stay warm and watch you step !
Until next time ...

WOW! That sure doesn't look like any fun to me. Y'all be careful and keep warm!
ReplyDeleteI'm in sandals today. It's warm for a change. I don't like winter and all the cold it brings. I need to live in the tropics. That would suit me just fine.
ReplyDeleteHave a terrific day and stay warm. :)
I hope you were careful out there. We had sleet and then 7 inches of snow on top. I think the ice is worse.
ReplyDeleteThat is too cold, it will be over soon. Great series.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind snow storms but freezing rain I hate. Looks like you have a very slippery go of it there.
ReplyDeleteI used to complain growing up in NY but livig here in Florida as much as the 80 degree weather was beautiful today..I miss the sow and even the ice from time to time
ReplyDeleteAnd this is why i don't live in wisconsin :)
ReplyDeletelovely pictures though :)
Brrrr... We got the deep snow, and just as it starts to melt we get wooped again... bwahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteSo happy I'm a west coast girl.
ReplyDeletethat we don't want in here!
ReplyDeleteBelieve me that spring is coming. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteI love the snow but the ice is scary! Pretty, but scary! Good idea to stay indoors!
ReplyDeleteHappy WW!
I miss ice skating! Haven't done that in years and I'd most likely fall on my bottomm if I tried, lol. :)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, but not a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteHey, I'm your newest follower! Feel free to drop by my blog ShanimalCrackers.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI love the fire ring in ice or ring of fire in ice has a nice ring to it :) Hope you get to venture out of doors before long I can see now why you are such a passionate gardener when growing seasons comes.
ReplyDeleteJust looking at these pics make me go brrrrr!
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot more snow than you.
ReplyDeleteI would be cuddled up inside too. Stay warm and watch for the thaw. :)
ReplyDeleteWinter scenes like these always look much more inviting in pictures than in real life. The railing ice is a nice shot.
ReplyDeleteSorry the first linky was last week's.
ReplyDeleteOur house is the same way! One of our gutters is starting to pull away from the weight. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't 5 inches thick.
Thanks so much for dropping by - do you guys still have all that ice? yuck! Oh - and I write tutorials every Thursday and host Scavenger Hunt Sunday each weekend. I'd love to have you join.
ReplyDeleteNew follower from Winter Friends Wednesday Blog Hop. Hope you follow back.

Hey Brian that looks exactly like one of cats, Briggs.
ReplyDeleteWe have had a bunch of snow here too over the past week. There is a lot more predicted for the next two days. I may get to go snowshoeing on Saturday. Hooray! And to think a couple of weeks ago we were worried about drought.
Happy WW!
Nice shots. Hope it gets warmer for you soon. :-) We can barely handle a couple of days of rain here in Southern Cal. :-)
ReplyDeleteDid you not have the warm weather that everyone else had this past weekend? Dig your way out of that mess and come on down to FL! It was 80 today!
ReplyDeleteJust think... spring's only three weeks away! Of course, for you and me, it could take a little longer...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous closeups of the ice and snow crystals!
I would be hibernating. Oh wait, I just about do.
ReplyDeleteOh, Brrrrr... that is why I live in Florida! Don't like that at all, except for the marshmallows maybe. :)
ReplyDeleteI would love some marshmallows thanks!
ReplyDeleteThat is really beautiful, and you got some great shots!
Oh my - it was 84 here yesterday.
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteSimply Delicious
Your photos are so lovely - be careful though - don't slip or overexert yourself in the snow and ice!
ReplyDeleteRamona
Whao..that's really lots of ice.. it's nearly March and there's still lots of snow where you live.
ReplyDeleteHappy WW
I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape - the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn't show.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like fun for a little while, but not long term!
ReplyDeleteScary!!!! Happy WW

I'm ready for winter to be over!
ReplyDeleteLove the picture's. We've had our share of snow here in Alabama. Now a follower from Winter Friends Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteWow, I really like the second picture. Good job!
ReplyDeleteBrrr!! I like your ice shots. I'm hoping the nice Atlanta weather we're having sticks for a while!
ReplyDeleteYou definitely put the beauty in winter right here. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhat fantastic ice photos! I always have trouble snapping photos of ice, you did very well.
ReplyDeleteI love the one of the drops the best, great shot! I generally hate winter but you did a good job capturing the beauty that is there.
ReplyDeleteUgh, I'm not jealous...at all. I'm loving the 70 degree weather here in Texas right now.
ReplyDeletelove all the pictures - i am jealous!

so pretty
ReplyDeleteWe had a lot of snow then it went into the 50's and it all melted but the next day it was back to single digits so it froze and it has been cold ever since. At least it has been sunny which is slowly melting some of the ice!
ReplyDeleteBrrrrrrr....I'm cold just looking at those pictures!
ReplyDeleteLove your icy little stalactites . . .I wonder, should one call them icictites???
ReplyDeleteWe had ice like that about a week ago, I didn't leave the house! lol.
ReplyDeleteWow. We got tons of snow but thankfully, not much ice this year.
ReplyDeleteThat's terrible. I hate snow but hate ice more. Be careful out there.
ReplyDeleteit looks like that here the other day and i watched someone spinning their tires trying to get up a steep drive way and some spots in the roads were HORRIBLE!!
ReplyDeleteWinter weather isn't much fun, but it does make for some fantastic pics!
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are making me shiver! We still have about a foot of snow left on the ground and its crazy cold. I hate winter!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to hibernate longer too! This weather is starting to drive me nuts, last week we had a gorgeous 55 day then it was back to 10 and snow the next, AND I fell on my butt getting out of the truck, darn ice! I just keep chanting to myself, spring is on it's way, spring is on it's way :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the warm weather to get here!
ReplyDeleteOh I am so glad we are finally starting to warm up here in GA. We are just not use to all that snow and ice stuff, we've knocked a bit off kilter. :D
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your hybernation for a little while longer.
Stay warm . . . looks like Spring has arrived in Central Florida . . . we have the air conditioner on. This winter was brutal!
ReplyDeleteCome by and link up to my linky . . . Gina's Wordless Wednesday

ReplyDeleteBrrr!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! But that looks very cold!!! Brrrr!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the one you called diamonds. What a beautiful shot!
ReplyDeleteHappy WW!

Okay, fine, I'll stop complaining about the snow we got last week. You definitely have way more headache to deal with! Geez, living out this way has turned me into a wimp. LOL
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. I love the one of the frozen drops, especially. :)
Yes, do be careful.
ReplyDeleteMama Bear
I wonder if we live close, seems we have the same weather forecast.
ReplyDeleteI love your icy diamonds.
you always have the prettiest pictures!
ReplyDeleteThis brings back memories of my last house in TN, especially the driveway shot. I can't tell if yours is steep but just the shot of the snow on it reminds me of how we used to get stuck at the bottom of the driveway. We would be trying to leave our house but if leaves fell on the pavement and then got wet, we were trapped. I don't miss being late for work because it rained on some leaves! Hope the ice turns into sunshine for you soon.

Beautiful winter scenes.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting.
Thanks for popping by . . .
ReplyDeleteI'm still chuckling!
My heron in WINTER PLUMAGE? Not on your Nelly! He's basking in the summer sun.Yup, while you have winter, we have the other thingy ya know? like when it is stinking hot and swimming in the shallows is like soaking in a nice warm tub and provides great enjoyment as well as cooling one down a little.
Don't take it badly, no disrespect meant, just a bit of a tease.
Thank you for stopping by my friend. I hope all is well with you., and thanks for the sweet comment too! Love your pics! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good time to stay indoors.
ReplyDeleteI have been busily cleaning as well as clearing some snow so have not posted this week. Trying to be "responsible."
The snow and the ice...my California husband keeps thinking we've seen the end of winter here, and he's always so disappointed when we get more snow. It is only February! We could get snow until April!
ReplyDeleteMore in the forecast for the weekend too. I think we are going to make the best of it and put on our snowshoes and take our baby Jack for his first ride in his pull-behind sled.
Happy WW.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures remind me of long ago during a cold, cold winter here at the shore. Silly people actually tried to drive their autos across the ice on the bay. The ice cracked and the vehicles went down. Beware of thin ice/
