Here is is just about a week before the official calendar
start of winter, and what do my wandering eyes should appear...
A surprise from an old family heirloom,
pretty pink buds...
heirloom Christmas cactus
buds and blossoms starting to burst,

a star is born!

bursting pink stars all in glory
What a beautiful gift before the arrival of snow to bury us,
as winter always does.
until next time...

Do you have any of your own?
Cheerful, colorful and lovely. :)

So many blooms! My mom gets jealous b/c I have a baby she grew off hers a few years ago. It's super small but produces one flower every December and hers that it came from never does.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteMy parents get many blooms on theirs. We haven't been as lucky.
ReplyDeleteDo you have to put it in the dark for a while to make it bloom, or does it make its flowers without any help?
ReplyDeleteIt's a Christmas miracle!! What pretty blooms. I was in Myrtle Beach last week and was happy to see flowers again. They're all hibernating in Delaware.

ReplyDeleteI’ve got a page I’ve put together devoted to hops, challenges, and memes for every day of the week! The link to that page is under my header. http://acts17verse28.blogspot.com/. If your Wordless Wednesday is a regular feature, let me know & I can include it on the list!
Oh, so pretty! Have a wonderful week! My WW is HERE
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful! I've killed several Christmas cactuses, so I think it's best that I just enjoy them in photos!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love those. When I was a teenager I had one in my bedroom...it takes a while to bloom but when it does it is soooooo worth it!

ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by & your kind words. First my dear cousin right before Thanksgiving & now my brother's wife & it was a real shock. I just saw her at the funeral & she was fine. She's my age too. Well, she's with my brother now arm & arm. God bless them both. I'm really down right now - sorry. I hope I can get caught up with my blog. I'm so behind.
ReplyDeleteSo many options on your blog - email here or there, subscribe to this or that, stumble, digg, and more!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful flowers. Two years in a row! Promise of good things for the coming year.
Merry Christmas!
Wow... Such a wonderful flowers bloom. glad to see something like this.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cactus flowers. They look a lot like the flowers I have on a bush in the yard & the name of it escapes me at the moment which is really annoying as I know what it is. Stupid ageing brain.
ReplyDeleteOh now I remember. Fuschia, they look a lot like Fuschia flowers
ReplyDeleteSo, so pretty. You must have a good green thumb...I'd kill 'em.:)
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! That's my favourite colour too (fuchsia and purple and violet - love them all!). Great pics.
