April showers has arrived...

and with those showers they have brought ...

rain,
heavy down drenching rain,
messy yuck all over the yard,
broken braches,
matted leaves and leftover plants...

in other words a big muddy wet mess!

just a small drizzle in-between the downpours today

just one of the many flower beds I was not able to clean up last fall
still too cold not to mention sloppy and slimy to even attempt yet

just one of the many muddy and drenched areas

another mess, but a sign of things to come!
green tulip leaves, under part of the deck and closet t the house

April showers are a good thing...
they are quickly melting the last of winters dirty snow,
though I bet there will be at least 1 more snow fall before winters snow gives up the ghost this year...
April showers are helping the much needed ground water tables from last years heat and drought...
some grass is trying to green up were it wasn't dead from previous said drought...
and it looks like some trees are preparing to bud out in flower and leaf!!
Now as long as Aprils' showers do not wash my house away or completely send what is left of the top soil we added and any good ground we had left down across the road. And please dear showers do not decide to leak into my lower level (pretty please!). Maybe slow down into a nice gentle spring rain and give the land a chance to drink it in.

Any showers and spring time behavior in your area or are you still covered in snow?

   until next time...

  5. Some people have all the luck :) We could use some April precipitation of any sort. Our reservoirs are very low, and all we have been getting is dry wind storms. Perhaps you could bottle and sell some of your run off on ebay :)

  11. We have April showers as we speak. I sure hope my hostas come back this year. I had them for the first time last year, and my burning bushes too - no buds yet! Maybe a prayer would help :) Thank for stopping by and welcome back my friend! So nice to hear from you! :) xxooxx

  15. I don't mind rain; I just don't want it all the time. There's supposed to be quite a few rainstorms heading our way in the next few days.

  19. We've had some nice and much-needed showers. Sometimes a good drenching is just what's called for. We don't want a repeat of the drought we suffered two years ago in Texas. We lost so many trees!

  20. At the moment it seems we've completely bypassed spring and arrived in summer with the heat. I'm hoping for some rain later this week to cool the air and water the grass and flower beds! Here's hoping your showers revert to a gentle spring rain instead of a deluge. :)
