♪ and mourning doves in a bare tree ...♫

Well, winter is really making itself known around these parts. Lots of freezing temperatures and penetrating to the bone wind chills, brrrr!

After a recent snow storm I spied this flock of puffy mourning doves right outside my kitchen window, I could not shake the old holiday song of "Twelve days of Christmas" out of my head. What do you think?

The days have been lean on sunshine and fat with clouds and snow flakes.
Winter weather, though not official by the calendar, is definitely here.
Stay warm my friends!

  1. The nice weather just doesn't hang around long enough. It's freezing cold here too. Lots of sunshine though it just doesn't warm you up at all.

Have a fabulous day and you stay warm too. ♥♥♥

  5. It's been cold here the last few days, but no snow on the ground. Haven't really had any snow the last few weeks at all.

Hope you and hubby are nice and warm.

  6. So glad it's finally summer here. The poor little birdies look so cold. You need to install a heated birdhouse in your garden

  9. I can practically heard their songs. I like the spring where the birds chirp outside the window.

Yes Bass Pro Shop is huge. They have two huge levels.

  14. Great job! I love to see birds in the trees in our backyard. There has been a number of times when I spy a beautiful cardinal that I would love to catch digitally, but know I'm not quick enough to get my camera out to get it. I may consider using my iPhone the next time an opportunity presents itself. Thanks for sharing with the WW hoppers!

  15. Too funny - I posted photos of doves this week too.

Do you still have the song stuck in your head? It takes me a few day to shake that one.

  16. I always feel so sorry for the little birds in the cold weather. I understand that they can fluff their feathers for insulation, but still!

  17. The birds love to hang out in my bushes and wait for me to feed them.
