Wet leaves fall like raindrops...

oh, wait a minute...
that is because it is raining too!

Sighhhhhhhhh
Summer-to-Autumn is starting to much like Spring-to-Summer...
Wet, cold and boring....
Boring as in no colors, not much signs of season change, abrupt temperatures and no sign of wildlife. Boring!

please ask if you would like to copy

Just a peek out our bedroom window and we see several patches of mushrooms,  a sign of natures yard sponge. Slimy, cold and lurking as an unknown safe food source for humans. Anyone care to identify? (I am not tasting no matter what!)

The only color showing is more from yard-art decor in the form of a pale turquoise birdbath full of soggy autumn leaves, with a touch of red petaled pottery, barely changed.

Too early for autumns splendor in color celebration that heralds winters lull and blankets of white.

Evidence as shown in this photo of autumns annual announcement by out first to change maple, from a previous year.

Summer stunk this year! Late to come, early to leave. Except for maybe 7 to 10 days of awful humid and high temperatures, I hardly noticed it was here. Did you?

I am linking up with a few other fun Memes besides wordless-wordy Wednesday this week. It's a very Cherry World for fun posts with red pictures somewhere for REDNESDAY, A Southern Daydreamer for posts featuring OUTDOORS WEDNESDAY, and WATERY WEDNESDAY!  Check out these fun sites as well while you wander this week.

Is autumn (your season change) shaping up/arriving as planned by you?

Until next time ...

  2. Thank you for putting a little rain in my life. It has been so long since it rained here, I am not sure if I would recognize it.

  3. We are still having summer. Will for about another four weeks and then fall will hit. We don't get much fall here either. We live in a desert that's why. Sorry your summer dashed by so quickly and now Mother Nature is stealing your autumn from you too.

    Have a terrific day. :)

  4. I like to see raindrops on windowpanes--especially from the inside looking out!

    WATER

Water in a drop of rain,
    Water swirling down the drain;
    Water clinging to the trees,
    Water filling up the seas;
    Water frozen, water free,
Water is the stuff for me!

  7. It's still reasonably warm here, though it looks like it'll be raining for a few days. After a very wet spring, summer was quite dry and for the most part pretty good.

  8. Sounds so drear... The weather here is so pleasant now. We finally have sunshine after a summer of grey salty fog.

  13. My daughter and I went on a Mushroom Hunt last month and found some really cool ones! I'm fascinated by mushrooms now. But, I definitely wouldn't try to eat any of them! Too many poisonous ones.

  26. It's going to be 99* here today. I hate it. It's supposed to FALL. I want cool weather. We have days and days and days of 100+ temps here in SoCal. Yesterday it was 102*!!

Tomorrow is picture day at The Diva's school. FALL pictures. She will be wearing Summer clothes.

That is so not right. I'd love to have rain. I LOVE rain. Snow would be goo, too, since I've never seen it fall before.

    *sigh*

  27. Happy WW! That tree is just starting to turn. Our color here in Oregon will not really get started for a couple of weeks too. It looks like the background of your first photo has a some red fall color in it?

Sorry you couldn't link up, dear! Do try again and be part of the fun! I am wondering in which state you live for we had a magnificent summer, except it was very wet this spring!! Thank you for doing your linky...I love to visit and leave comments when I can! I love the mushroom photo...they are icky, aren't they!?!

  34. Nice photo treatments.
I do not remember where but on a blog last week I saw a picture where it was actually (?) raining behind the photo. It was cool.

We are getting a touch of color change but nothing spectacular.
Big weather news around here is WIND!

  35. I am sick of all this rain too. Our yard is so soggy, the poor chickens are wading around up to their knees in sludge! I have to tip toe my way out to them because if I walk normally it flings mud all over my legs lol! The leaves are gorgeous though and they are already changing and falling.

  36. I would not be tasting either!! There are "experts" here who look for the edible ones for some restaurants here but I'll stay with the grocery store variety! Thanks for stopping by!

There's been lots of fungi growing around here too. Found a couple with teeth marks in them in the backyard. Hope they weren't poisonous!

  39. I don't trust self picked mushrooms unless they are the standard type that I know for sure is ok to eat. I remember my uncle picked some once & his whole family got very sick from them. They turned out to be some variety of toadstools
