oh, wait a minute...
that is because it is raining too!
Sighhhhhhhhh
Summer-to-Autumn is starting to much like Spring-to-Summer...
Wet, cold and boring....
Boring as in no colors, not much signs of season change, abrupt temperatures and no sign of wildlife. Boring!

Just a peek out our bedroom window and we see several patches of mushrooms, a sign of natures yard sponge. Slimy, cold and lurking as an unknown safe food source for humans. Anyone care to identify? (I am not tasting no matter what!)

Too early for autumns splendor in color celebration that heralds winters lull and blankets of white.
Evidence as shown in this photo of autumns annual announcement by out first to change maple, from a previous year.
Summer stunk this year! Late to come, early to leave. Except for maybe 7 to 10 days of awful humid and high temperatures, I hardly noticed it was here. Did you?
I am linking up with a few other fun Memes besides wordless-wordy Wednesday this week. It's a very Cherry World for fun posts with red pictures somewhere for REDNESDAY, A Southern Daydreamer for posts featuring OUTDOORS WEDNESDAY, and WATERY WEDNESDAY! Check out these fun sites as well while you wander this week.
Is autumn (your season change) shaping up/arriving as planned by you?
Until next time ...
Geeat fall pic! I am more than ready for fall after our long hot summer!
ReplyDeleteLovely fall picture.
ReplyDeleteWatery Wednesday
Thank you for putting a little rain in my life. It has been so long since it rained here, I am not sure if I would recognize it.
ReplyDeleteWe are still having summer. Will for about another four weeks and then fall will hit. We don't get much fall here either. We live in a desert that's why. Sorry your summer dashed by so quickly and now Mother Nature is stealing your autumn from you too.
ReplyDeleteHave a terrific day. :)
I like to see raindrops on windowpanes--especially from the inside looking out!
ReplyDeleteWATER
Water in a drop of rain,
Water swirling down the drain;
Water clinging to the trees,
Water filling up the seas;
Water frozen, water free,
Water is the stuff for me!

Fall colors are so magical!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots.
Those are lovely photos - great rain shots!
ReplyDeleteIt's still reasonably warm here, though it looks like it'll be raining for a few days. After a very wet spring, summer was quite dry and for the most part pretty good.
ReplyDeleteSounds so drear... The weather here is so pleasant now. We finally have sunshine after a summer of grey salty fog.
ReplyDeleteMy bad. At first I thought the colorful plate was dinner. LOL.

The leaves just made the bird bath so colorful!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful shots. Love all the colors.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little jealous. It still looks like summer here!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and I went on a Mushroom Hunt last month and found some really cool ones! I'm fascinated by mushrooms now. But, I definitely wouldn't try to eat any of them! Too many poisonous ones.
ReplyDeleteWe have started to see leaves drop in Nebraska.
ReplyDeleteI love that top photo!
hi
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit to My Cozy Corner. I change my header with the seasons. Thanks for asking and Good Job on your mushroom photo.

ReplyDeleteI love fall. It's making me so happy!
ReplyDeleteyou can never go wrong with autumn colours. beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt's early spring in NZ. Nice shots. Happy WW!
ReplyDeleteRight about now, with our three months of drought here in Texas, the 'wet cold and boring' sounds heavenly!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy link: Baltimore Orioles
Do stop by if you can find time.
Happy Wednesday.
I like the weather changing a few times each year. LOve the fall pictures here. Thank you for your visit.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's the weather that has me in a funk? Thanks for linking up. Happy WW!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid that we did more than notice summer this year. It was blazing hot and very dry. I'm doing my happy dance because it's autumn. Nice pics!
ReplyDeleteWe had a terrible long, hot and humid summer. I am glad fall is happening. Great shots, the mushrooms are my fave.
ReplyDeleteWe sure could use more rain here! I love the bright colors of the leafs changing in the fall!
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be 99* here today. I hate it. It's supposed to FALL. I want cool weather. We have days and days and days of 100+ temps here in SoCal. Yesterday it was 102*!!
ReplyDeleteTomorrow is picture day at The Diva's school. FALL pictures. She will be wearing Summer clothes.
That is so not right. I'd love to have rain. I LOVE rain. Snow would be goo, too, since I've never seen it fall before.
*sigh*
Happy WW! That tree is just starting to turn. Our color here in Oregon will not really get started for a couple of weeks too. It looks like the background of your first photo has a some red fall color in it?
ReplyDeleteAu contraire! I love the transition to fall and can hardly wait for fall foliage. Thanks for posting the great mushroom pic. Have a super WW!

ReplyDeleteFall is my favorite!! And no I wouldn't eat those mushrooms either!
ReplyDeleteBut those mushrooms look lovely as to the winter leaves. You take nice pictures,
ReplyDeleteHi, there, Faythe!
ReplyDeleteSorry you couldn't link up, dear! Do try again and be part of the fun! I am wondering in which state you live for we had a magnificent summer, except it was very wet this spring!! Thank you for doing your linky...I love to visit and leave comments when I can! I love the mushroom photo...they are icky, aren't they!?!
I like the mushrooms and I love your header :)
ReplyDeleteNice photo treatments.
ReplyDeleteI do not remember where but on a blog last week I saw a picture where it was actually (?) raining behind the photo. It was cool.
We are getting a touch of color change but nothing spectacular.
Big weather news around here is WIND!
I am sick of all this rain too. Our yard is so soggy, the poor chickens are wading around up to their knees in sludge! I have to tip toe my way out to them because if I walk normally it flings mud all over my legs lol! The leaves are gorgeous though and they are already changing and falling.
ReplyDeleteI would not be tasting either!! There are "experts" here who look for the edible ones for some restaurants here but I'll stay with the grocery store variety! Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteThere's been lots of fungi growing around here too. Found a couple with teeth marks in them in the backyard. Hope they weren't poisonous!
ReplyDeletevery beautiful posts. Fall is definately in the air.

I don't trust self picked mushrooms unless they are the standard type that I know for sure is ok to eat. I remember my uncle picked some once & his whole family got very sick from them. They turned out to be some variety of toadstools
ReplyDeletenice work man i see your effort that you put into this thing great work
